"...so as to achieve happiness, prosperity and progress for our nation."
I would be lying if I say that the thought of leaving Singapore to live in another country has never cross my mind. I have, infact, I've been having those thoughts ever since young. I do not know why, but maybe because of my curiosity to know how it feels like to live at the other side of the globe (Septi, I really think we should trade places ey! hahaha). But as I grew older, I realised that maybe staying here is not as bad. I mean, don't get me wrong, I do love Singapore. Even with its strict rules and such, it is still a great place to live in you know. Because this is home, truly. Looking back to our history, I am proud that Singapore is where she is now. That our forefathers and the past generations overcame the odds and worked hard to succeed for a brighter future, for our generation and the next one to come.
Since I didn't get the tickets for the parade (better luck next time I hope!), the cousins and I went to Marina to catch the fireworks. Spectacular, awesome-ness. I love fireworks. =)
You know, I can never get bored of hearing and singing the national day songs. It gives me goosebumps everytime I hear it.
" There was a time when people said that Singapore won't make it,
but we did.
There was a time when trouble seems too much for us to take,
but we did. "
And now, lets wait for Sunday for the National Day rally.
Happy Birthday Singapore!
Though it came a day too late. =)
Yours Truly,
HASYiMAH
